How do I create a symlink in a CIFS share?

I have the following folder /vol/vol1/qtree1/folder1/user1.  I would like to create a symlink /vol/vol1/qtree1/folder1/newuser1 that redirects to "user1".

I know for this filer, cifs.smylink.enable is set to "on".

Do I need a map entry since I'm not redirecting to another volume or share?

Is there a command I can run on the filer to create the symlink on the CIFS share or are symbolic link only ever used from another server that mounts or accesses the shares remotely?

Thanks in Advance!!
