NFS keeps seeing files as owner 'nobody'

Hi All,

I have a volume exported from my NetApp (ONTAP 7.3.1) to an AIX server (AIX 5.3). All of a sudden all files gets group permission 'nobody' and I can't change it with chgrp to what I want.

The export from the NetApp:

/vol/myvol   -sec=sys,rw,anon=0,nosuid

I'm using NFSv4 and both server have the same domain set for NFSv4. I'm baffled, because /vol/vol0 gets mounted through NFS as well and shows perfect permissions.

Has anyone a clue to what is going on?

Regards,

Richard.

Here is a little update:

The filesystem was mounted using NFSv4, when I mounted the filesystem using NFSv3 everything is oke.

NFSv4 uses nfsmap_id domains to identify user and group mappings. On your AIX system, check the nfs settings and ensure that the nfs domains match with that on the filer.

On both the NetApp and the AIX server are the domains the same.

NetApp

nfs.v4.id.domain     x.y.z

AIX

chnfsdom

Current local domain: x.y.z

Public
