SAS adapter in FAS3270?

Feeling like a newbie

Having a Q about adding a SAS adapter in FAS3270 controllers.

Q:

When i halt the system (controller A, first CF takeover of course)

Can i just pull out the "motherboard"? Is it hot swappable? And install the SAS adapter in A controller? Start the system. CF giveback. Let system start. Do a CF takeover and do the same for controller B?

Why i ask i s when i halt i became unsure because in controller A the fans are still on and all the green diods are lightning.

Regards

Bjorn

Once the takeover is performed, please verify the access of NFS, CIFS and LUNS of failed over node. Login with RLM or SP to verify the status of the failed over node.

Just switch off the node which is halted and replace the necessary components.

Once everything is ready just power it and you should be good to go.

thank you,

AK G

How can i switch of a 3270 controller without any power off button?

I have 2 power supplies but they feed the 2 controllers

Controller is hot pluggable. Wait after “Waiting for giveback” after “cf takeover”, then break with ^C and halt. Now you can pull out controller.

halt will power down the controller then do the replacement.
