Is it possible to securely erase an SSD NetApp disk? We re-use spinning disks and sanitise them using the disk sanitisation process, however is there a way to securely sanitise an SSD disk or do they have to be crushed?
Thanks in advance.
Hi,
Please refer KB https://kb.netapp.com/support/s/article/ka11A00000016J8/data-ontap-disk-sanitize-feature-has-certain-limitations-with-ssd
Refer How disk sanitization works on page 19 in the link :https://library.netapp.com/ecm/ecm_download_file/ECMP1636022
Thanks! - So it looks like most SSD's can be sanitised and re-used 🙂
