Using Lun as Pass-through for database on physical server

Hi,  was wondering if anyone would like to commit on this.  I will use Exchange and iSCSI, as an example.  I create a small lun ~5g and map it to a drive letter, P:.  I then use P: as the Pass thorugh drive for the database luns.  All database (dbx) luns are 2TB.

So all databases are accessed as

P:\MTD_VOL\db1

P:\MTD_VOL\db2

P:\MTD_VOL\db3

etc...

My question - is there any netigative impact using an iSCSI lun as the pass through vs an empty local directory on C: or D:?
