W2K8 <-> New files show up after 5 minutes

Hi

We run a Xenapp 6.0 farm connected to a Filer (ONTAP 7.3.5) and if we save or create a new file, it does not show up not even with a manual refresh.

After a few minutes +/- 5 minutes is shows up. I'm thinking in the direction of SMB2 caching somewhere.

Anyone has a clue?

thanks

i rarely experience that issue (through traditional ways, not XenApp but nonetheless). i never catch it on time though 😕

1. Try disabling offline files on this folder (you can do it in the client side or the netapp side ("cifs shares -change <sharename> -no_caching")

2. Try reaching this folder using ip instead of netbios name via the XenApp. Can you see the new files instantly ?

Hi betterplace

I'll try the -no_caching option. I'll also try smb2 auto tuning setting off. Indeed when I test now the file is showing up instantly.

I've checked the filer in both cases and the load was close to nothing.

Thanks already
