enterprise vault, cifs volumes and utf-8 encoding

Hi Everyone, long time lurker etc

I am being asked to allow utf-8 on our CIFS volumes to allow the ratball that is Enterprise vault to retrieve its files. Any issues with this??  , many many thanks
