Network and Storage Protocols

frustrating problem with NetApp CIFS Shares and Network Drives

Hi everyone,

After I tried so many things to get a problem solved with netapp-shares & win7 network drive mappings, I decided to post it here.

My Problem is:

Users map their network drives by using a logon-script (lying at the DC) after boot/login and the network drives are marked as not connected (red cross symbol).

The Network drives are mapped using DFS(netapp-vol -> netapp-share -> dfs-path <- mounted by user

I tried:

manipulation of the script to wait for network connection

manipulation of the script to wait just more than 30 seconds

manipulation of the script to kill/remap drives in different ways

manipulation of the registry for waiting of network connection (1 of 6 drives mapped correctly)

manipulation of energy options in the configuration of the NIC

Now, I'm at the end of my knowledge.

May you have any hints what I can do?

Are there existing filer options I have to know for a share/dfs/network drive constellation?

Thx,

jenoptik

Hi,

This needs detailed analysis of the scripts to narrow down on the issue. Please check if the shares been configured as per the best practices below
