Hi,

Check for bug Bug 530555: The CIFS shares in pre-Data ONTAP 8.1 release with backslash "\" in the share path are not accessible from SMB2 clients in Data ONTAP 8.1.

Description
Formatted
In pre-Data ONTAP 8.1 releases, users are allowed to create a CIFS share with a backslash "\" in the share path.
In Data ONTAP 8.1, the system validates paths during both share creation and processing the SMB2 requests.
Data ONTAP 8.1 allows only a forward slash "/" in the share path.
If you upgrade to Data ONTAP 8.1 from an earlier release, all the CIFS shares with "\" in the share path
are not accessible from SMB2 clients (Vista/Win7).
Workaround
Formatted
To make pre-Data ONTAP 8.1 CIFS shares accessible in Data ONTAP 8.1 from SMB2 clients,
you need to manually modify the CIFS share path and replace the "\" with "/" .
