Is there a workaround for pass thru authentication like there was in 7 mode? We have an IIS server that we use, and to put a local user that was local to the 7mode CIFS filer and access would just pass the user through. Now AD or the like is used for AD authentication.

in 8.2 clustered ontap we have local users and groups and that can be used in this scenario, but CIFS server has to be joined to the AD domain.
Workgroup mode is planned for future release
