we have AVscan setup , but not used it,
1) user experience slowness accessing the files during scanning process.
2) if there are encrypted files or password files how the scan works?
Have a look at this thread:https://community.netapp.com/t5/Network-Storage-Protocols-Discussions/McAfee-Vscan-Virus-Scanning-Options/td-p/144643https://www.netapp.com/us/media/tr-4286.pdf (This has some good info around 'how it works')
thanks that was informative.
but its does not say scanning process for encrypted files/password protected files .
non-scanable files are up to the antivirus app to decide on, I'd assume that the ones who can block this has it configurable in their GUI. I can't remember seeing it on POC's I did with Kaspersky and Symantec.
Have few NFS mounts and that needs to use AV scan. i know its only for CIFS traffic.
Any alternative to scan NFS mounts?
