Hi All,
I have a question about the Metrocluster IP firmware upgrade to 9.12p7,
I have two AFF250 A site and one B site, with the following specifications:
I would like to ask if I can upgrade B site Af250 first and then A site AFF250 the next day,
or do I have to upgrade B site immediately after the upgrade is completed and the other site?
Thanks.
NetApp FW: 9.10.1P8
BES-53248 FW: 3.8.0.2
Mediator: 1.4

Actually, the upgrade is coordinated by ONTAP.
you install the software on both sites. You validate both sites. Then when you start the install on one site, it does both.
usually it will do both controller “B” nodes. When they finish it will do both controller “A” nodes.

Hi,
Not sure about 9.10 but when we upgraded our Metro ONTAP 9.8 to a later release it will automatically upgrade one site/cluster at the time and once finished then immediately start with next.

I think you are thinking about non-Metrocluster. MC upgrades happen both clusters at the same time.

That's what I meant but you describe it better 🙂

Hi TMACMD,
If I update one Metrocluster, it will automatically update the other one. Can I manually switch services to the updated one?
