Is it possible to do a manual OnTAP upgrade from 8.2.4P3 to OnTAP 9.1, or does the upgrade need to be done in phases?

And where would I find documentation for performing the manual upgrade process, to make sure I don't s

It is possible. Not trivial. Significant network changes going to 8.3

 multiple hops

 latest 8.2.4p release then to the latest 8.3.1p release

 then the latest 9.1 p release

 there is a lot happening from 8.2->8.3

 you really need to be on the latest 8.2.4p release for best results

 I’m sure there are significant details in the upgrade documents

hello:

    If you want to upgrade from 8.2.X to 9.1, you need to upgrade to 8.3 and then to 9.1

The best upgrade path:

8.2.4P3 -> 8.2.4P6-> 8.3.2P12 -> 9.1P20

There are significant checks/fixes in 8.2.4P6 in order to prep to go to 8.3.2P12.

Do not skip this step.

If ONTAP is 7-mode it is not possible to go to Cluster mode (everything over 8.3)

Otherwise the right path is 8.2.4P3 -> 8.2.4P6-> 8.3.2P12 -> 9.1P20
