Delete FRP Backups older than 24 Hours

Hi,

IHAC who wants to create FRP Backups but only keep them for 24 hours. The Full backups will be kept for 30days but they don't want to keep all Transaction Logs for 30 days. Older Backups should be only point-in-time.

What they see is that the FRP Snapshots are deleted but the Logs remain in the SnapInfo directory.

Can this automated FRP Backup deletion after 24 hours or after the next Full Backup be configured with SME and if not, do we have another solution for that customer demand ?

Hi Thorsten,

If they don't need up to the minute restore capability from the old full backups they can deselect the default option in the advanced options.

You can try this:

1. schedule a full backup with "daily" management group each 24 hours, set this backup "retain up-to-minute restore ability for other management groups" to true.

2. schedule another full backup with "hourly"(normal) management group each every x hours but only retain 24 hours, set this backup "retain up-to-minute restore ability for other management groups" to false.

Notice FRP backup does not delete any backup itself, it is full backup which manages FRP backup retention.
