Hello everybody

Im looking for a possability to backup my primary filers vol0.

Is it possible just to mirror the entire vol0 to my backup filer?

The thing is I don't have a ndmpd license for the primary filer...

Thanks for some feedback!

Ben

You can snapshot vol0 so I don't see why you would not be able to snapmirror it as well.  I don't think you need an ndmp license do you?  you just turn it on with 'ndmpd on'

You can use vol copy or ndmpcopy to replicate vol0 from one controller to another.  Or if you have a SnapMirror license you can use that as well.

Of course, NDMP is included with ONTAP so by license I assume you mean for your backup software.

Hope this helps.

Or you could use the dump command on the filer to write it to tape.
