How to proceed with FAS8020 metrocluster separation if one of them is already disconnected

Hello community,

I'd like to ask you. There are two FAS8020 systems with one controller each and also located each in separate locations. Originally the systems worked in metrocluster mode but we would like to divide them to one of them would work in standalone mode. The issue is that the second one is already decommissioned so not sure if it's even possible to do that. We tried to scratch the first system according to recommended procedure "from boot menu" proceed with "wipeconfig" and also "clean configuration and initialize all disks" (option 4), but the system is unable to probably do that and some configuration is still there especially configuration for Service processor and so on. According to the procedure above we are not able to start "initial setup wizard" for network configuration and so on. Could you please provide us with a hint how to properly proceed to divide two FAS8020 systems if one of them is already disconnected?

that’s a good start. You probably need to go into maint mode and set the ha-config option properly

then be sure to set-defaults at the loader prompt

those two items are deal breakers for a successful re-init from a mcc config
