Is there any limitation on number of entries we can add to a DATASET for snapvault backup in Protection Manager...?

AFAIK its around 250 ... 255 to be precise.

However, if you are not interested in having more than 255 snapshots, you can set the retention count so that the older backups are automatically deleted.
