Mixing different speeds and sizes

Good afternoon,

I have a requirement to mix some SATA 7200 with SAS 15000, I know, I know, its against best practices, etc. but this isn't for production and purchasing another shelf isn't an option.

Could someone please tell me what I need to do (commands)?

Reason: Disk '1.1.1' is not the same type of disk as at least one other disk in the list. Disks after '1.1.1' were not checked.

This is a FAS2220 running:

NetApp Release 8.3.2

Alex -

ONTAP will let you mix speeds and sizes of disks in an aggregate if you force it to.

It isn't Best Practice to do so.

You can NOT mix drives of different types - SATA and SAS.

I hope this response has been helpful to you.

Hi, You should be able to do that using raid.mix.hdd.disktype.performance option. Please refer to https://library.netapp.com/ecmdocs/ECMP1196912/html/GUID-2F317E55-FBC5-46A1-B121-215861E1258A.html

By default raid.mix.hdd.disktype.performance option is set to off.
