We are considering going from OnTap 9.3 directly to 9.7 in a single upgrade.  We have a AFF300, FAS2650 and FAS2620 systems.  Has anyone gone this route and how did it go.    I have never done multiple versions is a single upgrade.

Its not for everyone IMHO.    It is a double upgrade in the background.   So you load the 9.5 code too.

whats you’re environment like?    Lots of plug-ins?  iSCSI or FC?

Very simple environment - CIFS shares for Windows and NFS shares for VMware.

Don’t do it!

 Do the double upgrade

   It’s supported that way

there are changes that happen between the big jumps

if you do I suspect a panic or more will be involved

 go to 9.5 then 9.7p1!

hi

First, you need to check each storage adaptation on the kb. If they all apply to the 9.7 version, upgrade all three to 9.5 and then to 9.7

hi

Select your upgrade method based on how you store the upgrade
Manual upgrade, multi-stage. 9.3→9.5,9 9.5→9.7
Automatic upgrade, direct multi-hop (requires images for 9.5 and 9.7)
