As the Host limitation for SAN, Customer see that maximum path for AIX is 16 paths per LUN but they want to know that this value also include existing failed path on the host or not.
For AIX service, The failed path maybe showing on the host.
From what I can read online at this IBM KB entry, https://developer.ibm.com/technologies/systems/articles/au-aix-mpio/, 4-8 paths per LUN is recommended by AIX, AIX will support more than 16 paths per LUN, and from our documentation, NetApp will support up to 16 paths per LUN.
