SNMP tool not discovering interfaces .

Hi All

We have Netapp mode "NetApp Release 9.12 and this is 2 node cluster , We are trying monitor this device using SNMP with 3rd party tool . When we send test traps from netapp , 3rd party tool able to get SNMP traps but interfaces are not discovering , Manually also not working .

Whereas We have other netapp 7mode devices , those devices interfaces automatically discovering .

NetApp did "migrate" the MIB over to ONTAP. Want to see something odd? Review the MIB...all the OIDs in there. Then so a simple SNMPwalk against ONTAP. There are significantly fewer OIDs that respond versus what is in the MIB.

I have never seen decent results using SNMP to probe ONTAP. IT does a GREAT JOB with traps. Setup a trap host and let it send.

Do not expect SNMP queries to work very well.
