Setup FC SAN questions

I have not touched netapp ever. I need to convert my system from NAS to SAN. I am reading the documents but it is confusing without context. Do i need an ICL for a SAN Can I just remove the NAS ip addresses along with the current root FS.

Does anyone have a step by step for ontap 2 node cluster step by step setup of an SC SAN.

can you clarify "convert from NAS to SAN" and what you're trying to accomplish?

And based on the IP address comment I am assuming you are wanting to do iSCSI?

Currently my FAS 8020 is standing as a NAS, I want to make it a SAN using the FC cards. I will be using Fiber Channel. I am not sure if I can take down all of the LIF's for the NAS like the ICL's.

Got ya, I'll note that you can run both on the same box if you want.  I generally would also recommend a separate SVM for SAN if you already have one running NAS.

As far as the ICLs they are related to snapmirror and used per SVM.   You can remove them if you're no longer planning to use snapmirror from that SVM.  You will need to remove the SVM peering as well before you decom them.

I am having trouble with the fc adapter, the lights on the adapter show connected and appear to be up but my lifs are still disabled. I am not sure what is going on.
