ONTAP Discussions
Hello together. I have a question. We had a short power outage yesterday. Everything is running but the NetApp OnCommand Center says shelf 1.0 failed. Can you acknowledge the message somewhere, or is there really a problem.
Thanks in advance.

You can simply acknowledge and delete it if the issue is 100% resolved.https://docs.netapp.com/us-en/ontap-sm-classic/online-help-96-97/concept_system_alerts.html#acknowledge-system-health-alerts
Ensure the shelf is up & running fine.::> storage shelf show -errors::> storage shelf show -shelf 1.0

The ONTAP maximum file limits is lesser than the maximum possible number of files supported by ONTAP for a volume. This video explains the reason why ONTAP has this lower limit on the file count.
Here’s a quick tutorial on how to check system information on the NetApp Support Site.
Learn to correct an error message when ONTAP reports that a volume is out of inodes because it has reached the maximum files.
