Hi,
I can create/connect to LUNs on the filer using Snapdrive and also perform backups with SME. However, I get this error when SME tries to do a restore. I have ensured the domain account is part of the administrator group on the filer and filer is part of the domain. Here is an excerpt from the SME logs. What could be missing?

- Can you do a restore with SDW?
- Is SME service account part of the Administrators group?
The account needs to have admin permissions on both the host server and filer. Also stop and start the Windows snapdrive service to make sure the password is still valid.
Hope it helps
Bren
Using SDW I can successfully mount a LUN from the snapshot.
Also, the domain administrator account is the service account for SME, SDW services, SDW connecting to the filer using RPC, filer is part of the domain and the same domain admin account is in the administrator group on the filer. Still I get the same error.

What is the error on the filer? Does DNS resolve to the correct IP address and port on the filer?
Bren
Here is the error on the filer.

Access is denied.
SnapManager for Exchange backup fails with error: Access is denied
Cause of this problem
SnapManager uses ESEUTIL to obtain database and transaction log
information. This information is stored temporarily an output file that
is located at %systemroot%\system32. The file name for this temporary
file is smeESEResultsXXXX.tmp, where XXXX is a random number.
SnapManager automatically deletes this file unless ESEUTIL reports an
error condition result code during executions and fails to release the
open reference to the temporary file.
See BUG 137692 for more information.
Solution
Delete or remove the smeESEResultsXXXX*.tmp files from the
%systemroot%\system32 directory on the Windows server as these should be
autodeleted by SME. Re-run backup.
If the problem persists, contact NetApp Technical Support.
saw that one, didnt see the file in the System32 folder.
Thanks for all your help, I will open a BURT.

Abhinav
