Using cluster failover on a 3140 to replace with 3270?

I was curious if I could migrate the high side cluster from a 3140 to a 3270 by:

1: Force a takeover on one of the 3140 controllers

2: Turn off clustering and operate the 3140 on a single controller

3: Configure one 3270 as the new cluster partner

4: Execute a giveback

5: Force a takeover from the 3270

6: Break the cluster and decommission the 3140

7: Configure the second 3270 as a partner

8: Execute a giveback

Am I completely off of my rocker or should this work?

No, it is not possible. For a start, they are using completely different interconnect technologies.
