Hello, Without any changes to our infrastructure, we can no longer access our NetApp filer using the domain\username login. We receive the error: "Error: Authentication failed. Please verify Username and Password." Only the admin account can currently access the filer. The output of the command vserver cifs domain discovered-servers show returns a status of undetermined and unavailable Regards,

Dear NetApp Team, I am reaching out to inquire whether there are any plans to introduce additional fields in NetApp's REST API for storage and network resources. Specifically, I am interested in knowing if the following enhancements are on the roadmap: RAID status for the GET /api/storage/aggregates endpoint. Position for the GET /api/storage/disks endpoint. Share-state for the GET /api/storage/luns endpoint. Operational duplex for the GET /api/network/ethernet/ports endpoint. Oplocks for the GET /api/storage/qtrees endpoint. These fields would greatly enhance automation and monitoring capabilities, and I would appreciate any insights you can provide on the potential timeline for these additions or if they are currently under consideration. Thank you for your assistance, and I look forward to your response. Best regards, Oleksandr Dubrovyk Software Engineer Zenoss odubrovyk@zenoss.com

Hello, There is a KB article for configuring ONTAP as a LDAP client, but not specifically for IdM. My end goal is to allow AUTH_SYS to have a maximum of more than 16 groups per user using -auth-sys-extended-groups : https://docs.netapp.com/us-en/ontap/nfs-admin/configure-number-group-ids-allowed-nfs-users-task.html This can be accomplished via NIS, LDAP, or local groups. How do I configure my Netapp SVM to join the Domain so that I can enable auth-sys-extended-groups?

Dear all, I have been facing Netapp Ontap Storage VM issues of joining CIFS to Windows server 2003 AD. I am on Netapp ontap 9.14. I understand that Windows Server 2003 cannot support AES and can only support SMB1 authentication. Therefore disabled AES 128 and 256 under: -vserver cifs security modify : -advertised-enc-types {DES,RC4} --aes-enabled-for-netlogon-channel{false} --encryption-required-for-dc-connections {false} -use-ldaps-for-ad-ldap {false} -smb2-enabled-for-dc-connections{false} -smb1-enabled-for-dc-connections{true} I managed to add the Windows server 2003 DNS to my SVM. Despite trying all methods, I am still getting the error KRB5KDC_ERR_ETYPE_NOSUPP when i add my SVM CIFS to Windows server 2003 active directory. Will appreciate any help on this, thanks! With regards, Jeff

Sometime after 9.13 , the release notes stated that NetApp had implemented a new EMS event to alert (sp.auth.loginDenied) when a bad login attempt was recorded for service processor. So, I reviewed the documentation, attempted to implement and it did not work. Opened a ticket, ticket was escalated, and Engineering said they could not get this feature working and so my ticket was closed. "unfortunately, the callhome event was not able to be implemented and needs to be removed from the documentation" Was told to check periodically as to when NetApp would remove it from their documentation. This is as of Dec 2024. Just posting this in case anyone is trying to get this working and the wrong documentation is still up. sp.auth events
