I am decommissioning two nodes in a four node NetApp cluster. The cluster is a SnapMirror destination and source. I edited the cluster peer relationships on each peer cluster and removed the IP's for the nodes being decommissioned. I then disabled and deleted the two intercluster LIFs for the two nodes being decommissioned. For good measure, I removed the intercluster ports on these two nodes from the broadcast domain Replication is still working, but for some reason the System Manager GUI shows "Availability" as "Partial" for each peer cluster. Similarly, at the command prompt, when I enter "cluster peer health show", there are still entries for the two nodes that are being decommissioned. Any ideas on how to clean up the cluster database and tell it to get rid of these IP's fully?

Looks we are getting low deduplication ratio without snapshots. it is about 1.3 to 1.5. We have 70% SAN and 30% of CIFS/NFS data. We are using AFF300 on 9.7P6, with cross volume deduplication and compression enabled. We also have aggregate level encryption enabled. Not sure if it is normal or not. Please share your experience and ways to improvements. thanks.

We are on the stage to set up DR for our production NetApp. we know we have choices between volume snapmirror or SVM-DR. as I know, the SnapMirror will replicate volumes, it is available for failover or failback. the SVM-DR will replicate all SVM include config and volumes to DR site for failover in case. Can some one share your experience on more details on advantages and disadvantages on each? On this moment, we will more focus on CIFS volumes. we are on 9.7P6. thanks.

Hi Gurus, I'm operating and managing ONTAP 9.7 storages and executes some CLI commands in maintenance works. When CLI command outputs multiple lines, ONTAP interrupts the output and asks and show below, Press <space> to page down, <return> for next line, or 'q' to quit... Are there any methods or options to have all output without interrupting? Because to check the storage health and status in normal operations, I should execute more than 15 CLI commands i n a row and have the outputs without hitting enter key. kind regards

I have a snapshot policy applied to one of my volumes. I created a new snapshot policy and I want to change the volume to use this one instead. Do I simply edit the volume to use the new policy and that's all? Or do I need to do anything else, like delete the existing snapshots first so it starts clean? I feel like the existing snapshots may be associated with the existing policy and maybe they would not be expired/deleted since the existing policy is no longer applied.
