Hi Experts ! I need some info on what happens with ONTAP when you add more disks to an aggregate than the max allowed for the RAID group of that aggregate. Basically: What does ONTAP do in this case? Does it automatically create a new RAID group for the extra disks, or is there another way it handles it? Are there any performance or redundancy impacts on the aggregate after adding more disks than the RAID group's limit? Are there any best practices or recommendations to avoid issues in this kind of situation? If anyone's been through this, can you share your experience and how you managed it? Here's my specific scenario: I have an aggregate with one RAID group (rg0) of 25 disks (RAID_TEC) + 2 spare, and the Max RAID Size is 29. What happens if I add 28 more disks to this aggregate ? This is to increase the capacity of a FlexGroup Thanks experts !!

Hello, Hope everything is fine! We are receiving many email notification from admin@localhost for certain rule and want to stop this. Hence would like to modify the rules. Do we have rule exception adding feature in MAV (Multi-admin-verify) so that we won't be receiving mail for specific command? Mail subject line: Approval Request for [system node run -node cluster1-01 -command dummy] Any help would be appreciated.

Hello, we are testing ARW on test volume and get alerts like: "callhome.arw.activity.seen [ALERT] Description: This message occurs when ransomware activity is detected. To protect the data, a Snapshot copy has been created, which can be used to restore the original data. If your system is configured to do so, it generates and transmits an AutoSupport (or "call home") message to NetApp technical support and to the configured destinations. Successful delivery of an AutoSupport message significantly improves problem determination and resolution." Now how do I find out what caused this alert?? I've checked system manager's vol-security page, AIQ and even went to activeiq.netapp.com to check the autosupport it sent as the sections are readable from there. Absolutely no information what caused this ALERT...we have on-prem BlueXp and it doesn't support ARW. So where can I see what happened and caused snapshot creation and autosupport?

I have two aggregates that were previously created from one disk shelf and now I would like to consolidate the two aggregates into on. One of the aggregates is completely empty and I would like to destroy it but in the past I recall there being some issues around disk sharing and the aggregate vol0. What is the best that to destroy the aggregate, vol0 for the aggregate, shuffle disk ownership around (if required) so that I can have a single aggregate? thanks in advance

Hi All, I have run into snapmirror transfer errors due to the destination is being full. However the destination volume is not full, rather one of the two constituents is: > volume show -is-constituent true Vserver Volume Aggregate State Type Size Available Used% --------- ------------ ------------ ---------- ---- ---------- ---------- ----- <--snip--> aggr_01_2 online DP 100TB 16KB 99% aggr_01_1 online DP 60TB 20.59TB 65% When I increased the size of the Volume ontap added the additional space to the constituent that was not full while leaving the constituent that was full in the full state. volume modify -vserver name -volume My_1_vault -size +20TB <---snip---> aggr_01_2 online DP 100TB 16KB 99% <<< NO increase aggr_01_1 online DP 100.00TB 60.59TB 39% <<< 40TB increase Is there any way to increase one specific constituent? I was thinking that I could add a third constituent but it would still leave the full constituent full. Thank you for any ideas to solve this! Bela
