Dear community, we migrated a Windows filer based on Vmware, which drew its capacity from a FAS2520, into an existing SVM (AFF300 - OS 9.8P19 incl. FlexPool/StorageGrid - V 11.6.0.9). The videos stored there (mpeg) - on a CIFS-Volume - can no longer be loaded via the browser (Edge, Firefox as a test) if they are > 45MB in size (this works on desktop level); this also worked perfectly before the migration. If you copy the files back to the Windows filer, this is possible again in the same browser; so it can't be due to the browser settings - right? Are there any settings at the volume level that can/need to be adjusted? Any idea ? Thank you - best regards Michael

It seems like a big oversight not to allow headers in webhook notifications. Headers often contain essential information like tokens to make the POST call. Also, per the documentation the payload is in XML (1990's called...). If anyone is on here from NetApp, are improvements to 1) allow custom headers and 2) make the payload JSON coming to ONTAP webhooks? The current implementation is unworkable integrating with things like Splunk.

I'm pretty sure I saw this years ago but I've forgotten the command. How do you change the display results of a command so data is listed in GB or TB instead of KB? (The specific command I'm interested in at the moment is volume efficiency stat).

I have a couple of 9.5P6 VMs running on various versions of ESXi. Recently, I fired one up to do some development, and ran into the "FPolicy servers fail to authenticate due to CVE-2022-38023" problem (as detailed here: https://kb.netapp.com/onprem/ontap/da/NAS/FPolicy_servers_fail_to_authenticate_due_to_CVE-2022-38023 ) which meant I couldn't access its CIFS shares. The problem doesn't exist for later versions on ONTAP, but as far as I'm aware, 9.5P6 is the "last" version that is officially supported for ESXi (and I've tried downloading the 9.13 simulator OVA and deploying that on ESXi, but it fails) I've read that it's possible to upgrade a working instance of 9.5P6 on ESXi to later versions, but when I attempt to download an upgrade image (eg, from here: https://mysupport.netapp.com/site/products/all/details/ontap9/downloads-tab/download/62286/9.7P23) I get an "unauthorised access" page. Can anyone give me some advice on what they think the best way forward is? I suppose I could deploy a later simulator on VM Workstation on a Windows ESXi VM, but my experience of running other OS this way is that they are painfully slow.

Hi, I have a strange problem. I have started migrate volumes to a new cluster via snapmirror. After broken off the snapmirror relationship, the volume gets RW and I create a junction path to use for the cifs share. Even if I give the share Everyone, I'm unable to access to share. I can see the share from the Explorer, but not accessing it. It worked before the migration. Even stranger gets it when I tried to create a new volume/share on the new cluster. I get the same problem, but some test share I created just after installation of the cluster works fine. The only thing I have done is upgrading ontap to 9.13.1.P2. I think it was 9.12-something before upgrading it. I can't find anything that differ between the share that works and do who doesn't work. Any ideas? I have a case, but the respond time is slow (prio 3).
