We have enabled SNMP on all of our NetApp clusters over the years. Now I would like to disable it as I'm aware it is considered insecure. Is there any loss of functionality in the following NetApp tools / features if I disable it? Is there any way to easily determine if it's being used in some way? As per latest PowerShell tool kit 9.14.1.2401, Cmdlet "New-NcFlexcache" shows Flexcache feature is not supported in ONTAP 8.3, so this cmdlet works in ONTAP 8.2 or lower only. I would like to know how to use FlexCache from PowerShell for latest ONTAP versions. Details: PS > Get-help New-NcFlexcache -full NAME New-NcFlexcache SYNOPSIS Create cluster-wide caching for a given volume. SYNTAX New-NcFlexcache [-Vserver] <String> [-OriginVolume] <String> [-Controller <NcController[]>] [-InformationAction <ActionPreference>] [-InformationVariable <String>] [-PipelineVariable <String>] [-ZapiRetryCount <Int32>] [<CommonParameters>] DESCRIPTION Create cluster-wide caching for a given volume. Flexcache feature is not supported in ONTAP 8.3, so this cmdlet works in ONTAP 8.2 or lower only.

Hello, I am testing the MAV (Multi-Admin Verify) feature. I just stumbled across the limitation that it doesn't work with SnapCenter yet, so that leaves our CIFS Servers. I set up a rule with the following parameters: Operation "volume snapshot delete" Query "-vserver <vserver>" (where "<vserver>" is the CIFS Server) However, my test SnapCenter job, which runs against volumes in a different SVM, still kicks off multiple MAV requests when it tries to auto-delete older snapshots outside of the retention period. Did I miss something in the syntax? Any advice?

Hi All, I have run into snapmirror transfer errors due to the destination is being full. However the destination volume is not full, rather one of the two constituents is: > volume show -is-constituent true Vserver Volume Aggregate State Type Size Available Used% --------- ------------ ------------ ---------- ---- ---------- ---------- ----- <--snip--> aggr_01_2 online DP 100TB 16KB 99% aggr_01_1 online DP 60TB 20.59TB 65% When I increased the size of the Volume ontap added the additional space to the constituent that was not full while leaving the constituent that was full in the full state. volume modify -vserver name -volume My_1_vault -size +20TB <---snip---> aggr_01_2 online DP 100TB 16KB 99% <<< NO increase aggr_01_1 online DP 100.00TB 60.59TB 39% <<< 40TB increase Is there any way to increase one specific constituent? I was thinking that I could add a third constituent but it would still leave the full constituent full. Thank you for any ideas to solve this! Bela

For years we've used a custom role for SnapCenter permissions on our iSCSI and NFS SVMs, based on the following article: https://community.netapp.com/t5/Data-Backup-and-Recovery/SnapCenter-Custom-Account-ONTAP/m-p/156197#M12840 This has worked well. Now I'm testing to add the new snapshot locking feature in OnTAP 9.12.1 so I can lock the three most recent snapshots from deletion. In testing, my custom role is generating "Insufficient privileges" alerts, stating the custom account "does not have write access to this resource". The specific failed task was "Set SnapLock Expiration Time Failed". I found the following KB article and added the two additional actions listed to the role, but got the same error. Any suggestions? I really want to implement this, but this permission issue is turning into a blocker. https://kb.netapp.com/onprem/ontap/dp/SnapLock/Unable_to_set_retention_at_file_level
