Pardon my naivete, I"ve not used NetApp much. I've inherited an old FAS8040 running OnTap 8.2.4. It's out of support and the only thing I need to do is securely erase the disks prior to system disposal. So I want to run disk sanitize. To do that (as I understand it) I have to delete the aggregates and make all the disks spares. So to do that I need to delete the volumes. There were 481 and I was able to delete all but 53 of them. They give this error:
dco-prod-netapp::*> volume delete -vserver es-prod-netapp-vs2 -volume urcdev_data_a_vol
Error: command failed: Volume urcdev_data_a_vol in Vserver es-prod-netapp-vs2 must be offline to be deleted.

Any pointers would be appreciated.

Hello all, Strangely autosupports stopped being generated for this system. The autosupport folder for every autosupport is not being created. I can see on the EMS logs the following: <asup_general_drop_1 sequence="146555" trigger="callhome.performance.data" detail="AutoSupport event time (2022-10-03 03:00:03) is older than the maximum age threshold (86400 seconds) from the current time (2022-10-04 03:00:11)" parameters="subject="PERFORMANCE DATA", "/> Has anyone seen this? Apparently the process is being held in the autosupport queue until it is dropped because of this age threshold. Regards, Pedro

Hi All, Refer "Once root volume encryption begins, it must complete. You cannot pause the operation. Once encryption is complete, you cannot assign a new key to the root volume and you cannot perform a secure-purge operation''. is only root volume cannot secure-purge operation or all volume in cluster cannot secure-purge operation? Best regards

Hi all Based on a FAS 8000 platform we have some 16Tb LUNS presented to physical hosts as a mapped drive for the purposes of a backup location.. All is well with the world. Except now i need more disk. Obviously i cant go above the 16Tb limit I have the spare disk to cut the LUNS but I'm not sure of the process of how to present them as one 32Tb lump.. (or if its even possible... Any ideas at all..?) Cheers Paul
