Hi everyone, I am experiencing an issue while adding new drives to our AFF A250 system running ONTAP 9.8P3. We have recently installed 8x 3.84TB NVMe SED (Part Number: X4011A) drives. However, the system marks them as "Unsupported" and provides the error "notallflashdisk" in the CLI. Here are the technical details: System: AFF A250 Current ONTAP Version: 9.8P3 New Disk Model: X4011A (3.84TB NVMe SSD) New Disk Firmware: NA54 Existing Disks: 1.75TB NVMe (Working fine) Symptoms: * storage disk show output shows "Unsupported" for the new drives. The error message is "notallflashdisk". The "Owner" field is blank and I cannot assign them to a node. I suspect this is a Disk Qualification Package (DQP) issue since the disk model/firmware is newer than our current ONTAP release. My Questions: Will updating the DQP to the latest version be enough to resolve the "notallflashdisk" error and allow me to create a new aggregate? We are planning to upgrade to ONTAP 9.16.1. Does 9.16.1 natively support X4011A drives without a separate DQP update? Regarding the NVMe_oF license: It currently shows as "not-installed". Since we use iSCSI/FCP for host connectivity, can we still use these NVMe drives in a separate aggregate without the NVMe_oF license? Any guidance or confirmation on the DQP/Upgrade path would be greatly appreciated. Thank you!

Hi Experts, Good day! This question occurred to me all of a sudden, and I haven’t been able to find a clear answer, so I’m reaching out for everyone’s help. For the S3 protocol in ONTAP — whether it is Multiprotocol NAS/S3 or Native S3 — can FlashCache/FlashPool still deliver performance acceleration? For example, does this apply to objects, metadata, tags, and so on? Thanks a lot. Chenhui

Hello, I have a customer that ingests millions of small files into a netapp volume and then copies the data to another directory in the same volume. Sometimes my customer experiences latency when copying the files. I don’t see volume or controller latency. I would think the files are already in cache / WAFL when the files are initially ingest therefore the write to another directory would be fast? Is there a way to remedy this? would NFS trunking be a solution? The environment FAS 8300 controllers running Ontap 9.15p7 Linux servers running RHEL 9 NFS v4.2 Thanks
