we are currently using Rubrik CDM and snapdiff for NAS backups. according to NetApp, the snapdiff will not be supported after version 8.17. Rubrik is pushing us to a different backup solution of NAS cloud direct for NAS backups, but this is a duplicated investment and a lot of data movement. does anyone have more details about NetApp snapdiff support? looks if we lost snapdiff, the NAS backup on Rubrik CDM will still work, but on some shares which have multi millions files, the indexing and metascan will take hours to complete, it is causing user access issue to the shares. I've been reading up on the new Dynamic Authorization feature in OnTAP 9.15.1 since we just upgraded to that version on one of our clusters. I'm interested if anyone has tried implement this feature and if it was a positive experience. Dear Netapp experts! Could you please help us troubleshoot the following error? Issue: Unexpected NDMP error communicating with tape server (it is Commvault Media Agent server] Detailed description : Our NDMP backup runs very slowly (approximately 2MB/Sec) and eventually enters a pending state with the error above. We are running OnTAP 9.12.1(P11) and are considering implementing Autonomous Ransomware Protection. While I will test it, it's hard to simulate real-world scenarios perfectly. I'd love to hear from fellow admins who have implemented Autonomous Ransomware Protection what their take on it is. Was it performant? Was it mostly accurate or were there a lot of false positives? Any particular type of data it did or didn't work well on? I'd love any feedback anyone is willing to give! Thanks.
