hi to all

I am trying to setup a ransomware protection with Veeam12. Want to use the Immutability so we need a linux veeam proxy server with LUNS attached to that server.Since we cannot use the snaplock technology within the Block based protocol,i cannot provion that LUNs with snaplock technoloyg

So i am thinking about using the snapmirror ,Can we snapmirror those LUNs volumes to another Netapp an protect those mirrored volumes with snaplock?.never tried that ,

anybody tried this kind of a solution?

thanks

Yes, you can replicate a volume from a non-SL source to a SL destination.  In the old parlance, this was known as "lockvault".

See: Commit Snapshot copies to WORM on a vault destination (netapp.com) for details.
