Yes, there's no license limitation.  You can get the master licenese key here.

That is exactly right.

 

As far as I can remember, it has always been free.

Not sure why it even has a license key.

I would have hoped that NetApp updated the last version (or Hey NetApp , create a new 4.1P2 version) to bypass the need for the license.

The reason for license is so that NetApp has a way to track usage in ASUP's that are reported back to NetApp.

If not for that then it would be removed.
