does a full list of cmddirnames exist?

Good day, I'm working as a consultant and my customer often asks me about creating restricted roles. It would be useful to have a full list of exixting cmddirnames, at lest to verify AI suggestions vs allucinations 😀

I know that it could be verified by using the cli, issuing incomplete commands and showing suggestions with TAB key. But the customer does not allow me to use the CLI with a role that can create other roles 🙄

Also a "ontap emulator" could be great. Any suggestions are welcome. Thanks in advance.

Hi @AleTinivelli ! Sorry that this has gone unanswered for a little while.

For registered customers, there is a simulator you can download - https://kb.netapp.com/on-prem/ontap/Ontap_OS/OS-KBs/Where_can_the_NetApp_ONTAP_9_Simulator_be_downloaded

We also have a set of online labs at https://labondemand.netapp.com/ that you can use.

In terms in what the cmddir is, it's all of ONTAP's CLI commands, so refer to https://docs.netapp.com/us-en/ontap-cli/

I hope this helps

Many thanks!

Hi @AlexDawson thank you very much for your attention.

Currently I am only a guest user and cannot access the simulator download and the online labs, but I will definitely keep these in mind and use them in case I will get someday a customer or partner level access.

In the while I will go deeper in the documentation 🙂 and this post could anyway help someone else.
I've non continuos but long experience with Netapp (my first machine was a F740 in year 2000), but I know running a simulator in lab environment is always the best way to get used with commands and develop useful automations, which has become pretty fast nowadays thanks to the so called VibeCoding  😉
