is Ontap 8.1.1 / Flash Pool already released/available

Yes,  June 5, 2012 NetApp launched official news about FAS2220 and Flash Pool:

The news are out there, but  ONTAP 8.1.1 is not available for download yet, even as a release candidate.

It is supported and available in 8.1.1, but not supported on the root aggregate at this time. 8.1.2 should allow you to enable Flash Pools on the root aggregate.
