Hi,
We have HA Controllers/Node model: FAS2552 with one DS2246 with SAS HDDs; we are adding two new shelves model: DS2246 with total of 24 SSD. Should we create two new Aggregates (11 disk each + spare) in order to distribute the loads on two controllers (Active/Active). Is it possible to create one aggregates to include all disks while I still can have Active/Active?
I saw some discussion about ADP which may include all 22 disks + spares and sharing two Aggregates by partitioning. However, I can't find the procedures to do that.
Thanks
Aldous

In all likelihood ADP will not come into play here. You will use whole disks
With 24, you could do a single raid group on one node if you need the aggregate that big. I think most would suggest splitting between the nodes and make two aggregates. Leave a spare pet node.

Assuming the new shelf has the same type of drive. You can always just add them to the existing aggregates evenly.

Current disks are HDDs and new ones are SSDs. You must create new aggregates (either one or two). Two will spread the load between two controllers as TMACMD said

Thanks everyone. I've created two aggregates.
