My understanding is that it does (so fractional reserve will come into play during that time period if it's a volume with LUNs), you can see it like any other snapshot, and that it is automatically deleted when that sis run is finished.
I have actually seen a sis.*** snapshot during the initial sis run....can't recall if I've seen it in subsequent runs though.
