We have about 70 TB of files that we want to transfer from the old storage HPE 3PAR to AFF.
Is there a way to transfer these files? In addition, can I transfer these files while the user has these files open? Is there any impact on data transfer? Is this type of transfer not allowed?

Hello, The migration's proces can be hard, it"s depend of your file expose, CIFS or NFS
But in any cases you can use a spécific tool from NetApp : XCP
You have many options, to retry the used files, but in some migrations, you need to do an initial tranfert and, some incremental, at the cutover time you need to stop share or export @source to be sure to have all files not opened
see this tools you fonid many answers for your migration 🙂

Hello,
NetApp XCP can be used here.
- XCP supports migration from any source to NetApp.
- You can do a SMB to SMB and NFS and NFS migration.
- XCP NFS supports live source, XCP CIFS does not.
Hope the information shared is useful.
