Adding a new SATA DS4246 in FAS2240 with DS2246 SAS

Hello,

I have a FAS2240 with a DS2246 Disk Shelf in production. Looking at the storage there is no more SAS ports available.
I need to add a new SATA Disk Shelf DS4246 in the system.
I can connect the DS4246 cascaded with the DS2446? This configuration is the same stack is supported?

i suggest you to read in the manual of DataOntap to see if your version support hot-shelf add, and for how to do it correctly. also if you’re adding the disks to existing aggregate. make sure the raid group size is adjusted to your expectations and that you’re running reallocation afterwards

All versions of Data ONTAP I am aware of supported hot shelf addition. Do you know version that did not?
