Can't Backup some Volumes of a FAS2020 with NDMP and Backup Exec 2010

Hi

My customer uses BackupExec 2010 R2 to backup snapshots of 4 Volumes on a FAS2020 via NDMP. The Snapshots are created with Snapmanager VI 2.0. All 4 volumes are used as NFS datastores for Vsphere 4.0. All Vsphere hosts can acces the NFS shared datastores without any problems.

All 4 volumes of the FAS2020 are visible in the backup exec selection list via the ndmp server.

2 Volumes can be backup up without a problem. The Backup of the other 2 Volumes failes.

error code: 0xe0001309

description: The NDMP server returned a backup error.

The only relevant article I found in the symantec suppport database is this one

http://test-inquira.symantec.com/business/support/index?page=content&id=TECH52912

the describred course of action to select only one snapshot per volume does not solve the problem, because this has already been done and the problem persists

FAS2020 Ontap 7.3.2.P7

Mediaserver OS: Windows Server 2008 R2 Standard

I would be grateful for any suggestions.

Regards

Boris

It can be by a stale backup session also. Have you seen: http://www.symantec.com/business/support/index?page=content&id=TECH65690 ?

Hi Jacint,

Yes I have seen this knowledge base article and there are no stale sessions.

Having the same idea. One customer with a FAS2020, using Backup Exec 2010 and NDMP, and running ONTAP 7.3.2. Going to attempt an upgrade to 7.3.4 to see if the issue is resolved. Haven't seen this issue before with 7.3.2 on 2050, 3020 or 3140. Possibly could be an undocumented issue with 2020 and 7.3.2? One controller works fine the other is problematic.
