Data migration from 7-mode to Cluster mode filers

Hello,

We have about 40 TB of data  (NFS Volume) to move from 7-mode to Cluster mode. Does anyone know better solution than Linux "rsync" command?

Thanks for any input you can provide!

There is 7MTT (7-Mode Transition Tool). Not sure whether it "better" but it helps to migrate filer configuration which is not possible with rsync.

I have used the 7MTT tool to migrate over 60TB of data from 7mode to Cmode.

It's easy to setup and works pretty well...

It does have some challenges and limitations but once you get passed them it works relatively smoothly..

Other option is to bypass 7MTT and just use snapmirror (TDP type relationship in cDOT...essentially what 7MTT is doing in the background). If you have a small number of large volumes this is a good way to go if you don't want to mess around with 7MTT. Caveat here is you're not getting all the nice checks/balances built into 7MTT that prevent you from doing something horribly wrong.
