Hi,

To resolve the issue try taking the Hot Spare Disk out, i.e, pull out that disk and then re-insert/re-seat the disk.

Alternatively set the Filer to Priv Set advanced mode and manually unfail the disk, then try and zero the spare again. if the disk fails again, then it is more than likely at the end of its service life and you will need to get another Hot Spare replacement.

Thanks

hi

This could be due to a number of reasons,

1. Ensure that the faulty disk is correctly identified. Check whether the disk is physically damaged or the indicator (such as the yellow indicator) is on. Use the command line to check the disk marked with "not available" or "Failed".

2. Ensure that the replacement disk is compatible with NetApp FAS3170, and if possible, conduct a full test of the new replacement disk using the disk test tool to rule out problems with the disk itself and ensure that the disk is properly connected to the storage system, including all necessary cables and connectors.

3. Replace the disk to another slot to eliminate the possibility of slot failure and ensure correct system configurations, including disk ownership and aggregation Settings. If the system prompts you to upgrade the disk microcode, perform the upgrade as prompted, assign the disk to the correct controller or aggregation, and check the disk status again
