Hi
Where I can find what exact CPU models are used in NetApp FAS controllers:
FAS 2040
FAS 2240
I know that both are using Xeon 1.66, but from which Xeon family E56xx/L56xx ?
I do not think NetApp publishes this information.
Why do need to know it?
Software shows CPU model is installed in controller during booting.
Well... it good for performance comparison. Upgrade from everything 5xxx families to E55xx/E56xx/L55xx/L56xx increased CPU power two times.

NetApp not, but you can find it here: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/NetApp_filer
I also found this
Mid-Range | NetApp FAS2040 | 1 x 1 @ 1.66 Xeon / 8 GB / N/A / N/A
Mid-Range | NetApp FAS2050 | 1 x 1 @ 2.2 Celeron / 4 GB / N/A / N/A
Mid-Range | NetApp FAS3210 | 1 x 2 @ 2.33 E5220 / 8 GB / .5TB / N/A
Mid-Range | NetApp FAS3240 | 1 x 2 @ 3.0 E5240 / 16 GB / 1 TB / N/A
Mid-Range | NetApp FAS3270 | 2 x 2 @ 3.0 E5240 / 16 GB / 2 TB / N/A
Enterprise | NetApp FAS6210 | 2 x 4 @ 2.26 E5520 / 48 GB / 3 TB / N/A
Enterprise | NetApp FAS6240 | 2 x 4 @ 2.53 E5540 / 96 GB / 6 TB / N/A
Enterprise | NetApp FAS6280 | 2 x 6 @ 2.93 X5670 / 192 GB / 8 TB / N/A |
Is it true that the FAS2050 has a Celeron CPU in it? My company's computer lab has one and I was simply curious. Also, I did a sysconfig -a, but where would I find confirmation of the processor? Thanks.

Both models definitely don't use a 55xx or 56xx Intel CPU.
For the exact model check boot sequence, or sysconfig -a

Others have posted some answers but out of curiosity, why do you find it important what the CPU is?
Asking because I've seen from time to time users trying to compare storage systems based on CPU and RAM.
This approach doesn't work.
Each storage system uses CPU and RAM completely differently.
So a box that may use a quad-core xeon and 12GB RAM may indeed be far slower than another manufacturer's system using a different OS and only 2 cores and 4GB RAM.
It's the OS that makes the biggest difference. Then the actual hardware used.
For example...

Hello Guys
As far I know the
Fas2040 CPU is a Intel core Duo Processor T2300 (2M cache, 1.66 Ghz 667 Mhz FSB) Old netbook CPU!!
FAS2240 is a Intel Xeon Processor LC3528 (4M Cache, 1.73 Ghz)
