FAS2520 Cluster from 2 standalone 2520 w single controller for NFS

Dear Professionals,

I have 2 FAS2520s, all with sigle controllers.

Is it possible to create a node Cluster from them (switchless maybe)?

There are 12-12 identical discs in each of them2.

I would use them for NFS.

Oh sorry! Someone asked the same question in there at about the same time.

Do you want data in place?

Assuming no - boot each node up to maintenance mode, using the special boot menu (control-c when prompted) and run this on each node:

ha-config modify controller ha

ha-config modify chassis ha

Then reboot and run option 9a from each system, then reboot and run option 9b from the system that says "LOADER A>". It will then prompt you to setup ONTAP again. You will need to re-enter the license details at this time.

Does it mean, that the 2x12 disks will be visible in the Cluster, and can be used to create aggregates and maybe a single big volume (Now we have 2x12x2TB disks in them)

Yes - they will be partitioned first, to create boot partitions, but there will be a small root/boot partition and the remainder available for storing data on.
