FAS2552 Bios BSD and Bootloader files

Hello,

New to netapp! 🙂

I have managed to get myself a FAS2552 but it gives a boot error: This platform is not supported in this release.

I tried several Ontap versions (netboot) but it's al the same error.

Already ordered a new Micron eusb disk (usb 2.0) just i case, but i also see the Bios/BSD Bootloader are very old.

Can someone point me out where i can find the firmware update files, because it not on support.netapp.com. I guess because it "End of Life", or can someone maybe send me the files?

Thanks in advance.

Yes, support for the FAS2552 ended in January 2023.

The last ONTAP version to support it was 9.8.

You might get some additional advice about using this hardware for "home lab" use from the NetApp Discord channel. I recommend joining it and asking your questions there.

All ONTAP downloads are available here: https://mysupport.netapp.com/site/products/all/details/ontap9/downloads-tab

However, your NetApp SSO credentials/company must be entitled to download ONTAP software.

Unfortunately, NetApp personnel are not allowed to send software directly.

Unfortunately this version is not there anymore (9.1p1).

Why i also ask is. I guess i am affected with Bug (903158). So i read that with 9.1p1 version it should be solved. I tried every other even Ontap 8, but also the latest supported version Ontap 9.8P21. But every time it comes back with the same error:  This platform is not supported in this release.

I already did the "sp status" test, but there is no problem. It is running.

So, now i have the problem i cannot boot Ontap, also not on netboot. So i cannot do the update of the Bios and Firmware etc. Thats why i wanted this Ontap version.

Would it then be possible to manually update it? I need  SP firmware 2.9P1 or SP 2.11 or later and "Version6 SB_XX Switch 0". Can you send me those then? On the support site i can only see from FAS2620..

https://mysupport.netapp.com/site/downloads/firmware/system-firmware-diagnostics

Is'n there any coulance for me? I really want to learn it, and not with "Simulator".

ONTAP 9.1P1 download is there. Type it into the pull-down menu's "box".

Finally found it. Thanks. But unfortunately stil the same error during netboot. Even follwing this solution: https://mysupport.netapp.com/site/bugs-online/product/ONTAP/BURT/903158

I am going to talk with my reseller. Let you guys know.

Hello,

Why do you perform a netboot?

If you have already an Ontap in the boot device, can you try to use option 7 then 4 with boot menu?

I use to work with old system and never had issue like that.

Can you send the output you have?

Hello,

Id does not even come to the boot menu. That's why. But this also happens using netboot (any version).

Starting AUTOBOOT press Ctrl-C to abort...
