Has anyone been able to use UTA2 Ports for Tape Backup?

Hi all,

This is Kenneth.

My customer request Tape Backup.

The system is FAS2552 that has 4 uta2 ports as you know.

If we use SAN Switch, then could support Tape Backup in UTA2 Ports?

Hi Kenneth,

if setting the UTA2 ports on the FAS2552 (min. ONTAP 8.2.2) to FC personality and using an FC switch to attach the tape device (currently only non-IBM Tape Devices) to, then it is supported to use the UTA2 Ports for Tape Backup.
