How NVRAM Work?

Some people told me that the data block will be written to RAM after a copy to the NVRAM.

 

But the NVRAM is smaller than RAM. So I don't think that's possible.

 

I read some documents.

 

The document mentions NVRAM as an operational behavior for recording blocks of RAM.

 

Blocks are not stored on the NVRAM.

 

If this is the case.

If the RAM is damaged, the data is lost.

 

So I want to know how NVRAM work!
