How many disk shelves in a aggregate

Hi,

I am having 3240 FAS, How many disk shelves can I group in to single Aggregate

Hi and welcome to the Community!

It depends on:

- ONTAP version - prior to 8 there is a limit of 16TB (usable) size; in 8.x you can have aggregates bigger than 16TB & the limit for 3240 is 50TB (usable)

- disk size

Is there any limit on number of disk shelves that can be added on to aggregate or it's only size limit

It's only the size limit - with large enough aggregate it can possibly span multiple back-end FC loops, or SAS stacks.
